Steve Tryling, MS, LPC-S, LCDC, CSAT, Certified EMDR Therapist

In 1986, I began working in the field of mental health and addictions. Since that time, I’ve worked in psychiatric hospitals, chemical dependency units and freestanding residential treatment centers treating addictions mental health, substance use disorders and process addictions.

I began my private practice in Denton in 1997. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and supervise counselors who hold a temporary license until they become fully licensed as an LPC, a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist and a Certified EMDR Therapist.

Over the course of my career, I have provided individual and group therapy; marriage and family counseling; provided specialty workshops and anger management programs to a vast array of individuals. I am trained in: Cognitive Behavioral Therapies, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), Experiential Therapy (also known as ROPES or challenge course therapy) and John Gottman’s marital therapy.

I believe a good therapist is one who has done and continues to do their own work in therapy. I have personally benefited from numerous years of individual and group therapy. I believe it is important to meet you where you are and provide a variety of interventions to assist you in achieving your goals.

I have a passion for helping individuals heal their brokenness that we all experience at various times in life. I welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and provide you the best counseling experience possible.
