“What we don’t need in the midst of struggle is shame for being human.”
This powerful quote by Brené Brown guides my approach to counseling. My personal journey through therapy inspired me to transition from a military career to a second career as a counselor. I know it takes immense courage and humility to seek help, and I honor that by creating a safe, accepting space for you to heal.
My practice is built on the belief that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation for growth. I work from a person-centered perspective, emphasizing acceptance and collaboration. Together, we’ll establish clear goals and find the best methods to help you achieve them. I draw from a range of evidence-based modalities, tailoring our work to your unique needs.
My experience includes supporting individuals dealing with anxiety and depression, adoption and fostering issues, borderline personality disorder (BPD), chronic health issues, life transitions and parenting issues, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and childhood trauma and identity issues.
I have specialized training in EMDR, and I also incorporate techniques from DBT, IFS, TF-CBT, EFT (for couples), and REBT. It is a privilege to be a part of your healing journey, and I look forward to walking alongside you.
In my personal time, I enjoy chasing my kids, painting, reading, baking, being active in my church, and walking outdoors when the weather is between 60 and 80 degrees.
